THETA BETA
Alpha Delta Pi was founded as the first secret society for women in 1851 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. Coastal Carolina University's Theta Beta chapter was founded in 2007. Our sorority is committed to high academic standards, social responsibility, sisterhood, values, and ethics.
To date, Alpha Delta Pi has initiated more than 235,000 women, many of whom are actively involved in one of over 145 collegiate chapters and 150 alumnae associations throughout the United States and Canada.
Letter from our President
Hi! My name is Mackenzie Sarne and I am from right outside of Philadelphia in King of Prussia, PA. I am a Junior Psychology major with a minor in Political Science. I currently serve as the seventeenth President of the Theta Beta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at Coastal Carolina University. It is such a privilege to be a part of such an amazing organization.
I came home to the Theta Beta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi in the Fall of 2020. As soon as I walked through Theta Beta’s recruitment doors, I knew Alpha Delta Pi felt like home. As I listened to the testimonials from the women of Alpha Delta Pi during recruitment, I knew that Theta Beta had something special. That special feeling was what landed me here today continuing to spread my love for this sisterhood. From the day I became an Alpha until today, I have made endless memories and I have had countless experiences that have shaped me into the woman I am. The immense love that I have for this chapter is what drives me to grow and be the best sister that I can. I have become passionate to hold leadership positions in our chapter and have in turn found my purpose. I am proud to wear my letters and am so proud of every single sister. I have learned through my time in this chapter that Alpha Delta Pi is not just a sisterhood, but it is a way of life. Our open motto “We Live For Each Other” symbolizes our sisters' passionate drive to live by our four values (Sisterhood, Service, Scholarship, & Self). Our creed says, “I believe that our motto, "We Live for Each Other", expresses the true spirit of fraternity; and that by living this motto my life will be enriched by true friendships and by unselfish service to mankind.” I can truly say that my life has been enriched and Alpha Delta Pi will be my home for life.
Alpha Delta Pi has allowed me to have such an amazing college experience that I am so grateful for! From library dates, sisterhood events, RMHC trips and beach days; I have had so much fun being a member. The future is so bright for this chapter and I cannot wait to see what’s in store!
Pi love and all of mine,
Mackenzie Sarne
